The Truth is Out There ….. Trust No One!
Are we trading "ease of information" for "truth of information"? If there's something I want information about, my first port of call has always been books! However, schoolies are using the NET as their fundamental education resource and university students are plagiarising off the NET for their essays… If I was to say post online somewhere that electrons are bright purple and smell like a cross between orchids and a cowyard on a bad day, and manage to get it near the top of search engine results (too easy) how long before this is being quoted in chemistry, agriculture & horticulture papers, or, appears as a question in exams? This may be an extreme example... but there are some web pages out there spouting humbug that some people take as gospel!
